Employees who enjoy going to work and feel happy are more productive, more engaged, have lower absenteeism and are less likely to leave. But to what extent are employees happy and to what extent do they experience work pressure? With the new 'Work pressure meter', work pressure and job satisfaction become measurable and negotiable.
What is the Working Pressure Meter?
With the Workload Meter , HR managers, occupational health and safety coordinators/those responsible for personnel policy can stimulate the managers within the organization to get started with the theme 'work pressure and job satisfaction'. With the aim of ensuring that employees and employers discuss this. They can then get moving where necessary to reduce the workload and increase job satisfaction.

The Workload Meter has been developed by the social partners, employers and trade unions in the insurance sector, on behalf of employers' and employees' representatives in the sector.
For whom?
The Workload Meter is intended for employees, managers and HR managers / (occupational health) coordinators / those responsible for the personnel policy of insurance companies.
Thoseresponsible for personnel policy apply for a license code online from the organization. This makes the person the coordinator of the company. The license key gives the coordinator access to the dashboard. In the dashboard, the coordinator creates teams and invites managers of those teams to get started with the Workload Meter.
Executives
Managers, in turn, invite team members to fill in the meter. As soon as the coordinator adds a supervisor to the system, the Workload Meter automatically sends an invitation to this manager.
The invitation (e-mail) to the manager states, among other things:
- that it is a short test for the team members. The test consists of simple questions that give a good impression of the workload and job satisfaction within the team.
- that the test is completely anonymous. Names and e-mail addresses are not linked to the result. You don't know who took the test. Two weeks after the email, the employee's name and email address are automatically deleted.
- that the first part of the test consists of 11 basic questions that cover the most important themes around work pressure. If an employee answers a basic question negatively, he or she receives follow-up questions that go into more depth. Employees who have taken the test receive immediate feedback with practical tips. They can download those results or have them sent to themselves via an email.
- that managers will have access to the team's dashboard and results if at least 60 percent with a minimum of four employees have completed the test. These numbers have been deliberately chosen to guarantee the anonymity of the participants.
- that managers get a good impression of the workload and job satisfaction within the team on the basis of the completed questions. Example: What do employees suffer from? What can you organize differently and what do employees enjoy?
- that managers don't see who gave which answers. However, they do know which topics they can work with to reduce unhealthy work pressure and increase job satisfaction.
- that managers also receive tips and advice for a team approach to support the reporting. In this way, they can make certain themes easier to discuss.
Test for executives
Managers can also complete the test via the dashboard. After all, he or she plays an important role in tackling unhealthy work pressure. In this test they look at their role, way of leadership and its influence on the team. The points that are discussed have a relationship with work pressure and job satisfaction of the employees. At the end of the test, they get a picture of their way of leading and tips to improve themselves.
Anonymity guaranteed
The data processed by the Workload Meter is collected at an aggregated level and processed anonymously. The personal data of employees are not linked to the result. There is therefore no link between the employee and his or her answers. Moreover, the manager only gets to see results when at least five employees have answered the questions. This ensures anonymity. The data is provided to an IT service provider for processing into a report. A processing agreement is concluded with this service provider in which agreements are made about the protection of the data.
