During the General Members' Meeting (GMM) on Wednesday 29 June 2022, the Dutch Association of Insurers granted prospective membership to Wakam. In addition, Lemonade's aspiring membership has been converted into a full membership.

Prospective members

In addition to Wakam, Swiss Re international, iptiQ Life and iptiQ EMEA P&C also became prospective members earlier this year.

  • Wakam is an insurer that designs tailor-made insurance solutions that are shared under white-label by distribution partners, InsurTechs, startups and retailers. Wakam is also specialized in the development of embedded insurance solutions.
  • Swiss Re international SE (also known as Swiss Re Corporate Solutions) focuses on B2B companies with non-life products in the large business market.
  • iptiq Life and iptiQ EMEA P&C are labels of Swiss Re. iptiQ is an international, digital B2B2C insurer that offers life and non-life insurance products through an end-to-end platform.

Full membership

Prospective members must comply with self-regulation within 2 years. After a test by stichting toetsing verzekeraars (Stv), membership is granted. During the GMM on June 29, 2022, Lemonade's prospective membership was converted into a full membership.

Extraordinary member

Finally, ANWB Rechtsbijstand has been appointed as an extraordinary member. Legally independent claims settlement agencies, which, in accordance with the requirements in Section 4:65(2) of the Wft, handle claims handling legal expenses insurance, can apply for extraordinary membership. This gives them almost the same rights as a regular member of the Dutch Association of Insurers.
