Decisions of the Policy Core Team Protocol on Large-Scale Calamities

The Protocol Grootschalige Calamiteiten is currently active because of the situation in the Middle East.

Large-scale calamities are receiving more and faster attention from the media, stakeholders, politicians and the public. Think of power failures, internet and telephony due to attacks, riots, cyber incidents, or increasing damage due to storms, floods or drought due to climate change. Society is also confronted with issues, such as Covid-19, the MH17 disaster and/or terrorism, which lead to questions about liability and coverage.

That is why the Association has laid down an integrated approach in the Protocol Grootschalige Calamiteiten. The protocol has a Policy Core Team that is mandated by the General Meeting of Members of the Association to make a reasoned decision or to give advice on administrative and policy matters in the event of a large-scale calamity, depending on the situation. The Policy Core Team consists of the presidium of the board, supplemented by chairs of the Income, Life and Non-Life sector boards, the chairman of the Platform for Small and Medium-sized Societies and the general director.

Decisions taken by the Policy Core Team will be discussed and evaluated at the next members' meeting.

Composition of the policy core team

  • Chairman of the Board of the Association
  • Vice-chairman/treasurer of the Board of the Association
  • The chairmen of the Income, Life and Non-Life sector boards
  • Management of the Association

Decisions taken by the Policy Core Team can be found below by topic and in chronological order.
