The EU is facing an increasingly risky world: from geopolitical tensions to cyber threats and extreme weather events caused by climate change. For insurers, this means that risks are becoming increasingly difficult to predict. The sector must therefore move with it: with good data, strong cooperation across borders and more focus on prevention.
A stronger and safer Europe, for example, means better agreements on digital security, which insurers also rely on when assessing and insuring cyber risks. And a greener EU means investing in sustainable energy, climate adaptation and infrastructure – all areas where insurers have a role to play, for example in insuring new technologies or developing green products.
The Danish Presidency is focusing on turning words into deeds. The same applies to our sector: we must continue to deliver. By offering innovative products, thinking about social risks and actively contributing to a resilient Europe. In short, Denmark's priorities go to the heart of what we do as insurers: protect, think ahead and contribute to stability in a world full of change.
