Raise the SDG flag for a better future

Raising the flag for a better future in the areas of climate change, gender equality, biodiversity and fair work: that is the goal of the SDG flag day that takes place on 23 September. With this action, companies, civil society organizations, governments and educational institutions at home and abroad show that they are fighting for the Sustainable Development Goals and are part of this positive movement.

Last year, more than a thousand flags were hoisted in the Netherlands. A nice number that we would like to see grow. After all, there is still a lot to be done. That is why VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland, together with Global Compact Network Netherlands (GCNL), are calling on companies to participate in the SDG flag day this year. In addition, each company can choose how the campaign is portrayed. For example, by organizing an event around the hoisting of the flag, via a press release addressed to partners and stakeholders or by formulating new, ambitious objectives. In addition, via the AWorld app it is possible to challenge employees, stakeholders and friends to realize sustainability actions within their own environment.
